Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker talk about parenthood and what it means to have a miscarriage.
Kourtney Kardashian Parker and Travis Parker have spoken out about the deep personal loss they experienced early in their relationship. The couple revealed in Parker’s upcoming documentary that they had a miscarriage shortly after they started dating in 2021.According to Entertainment Weekly, in the documentary “Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear,” which premiered in New York on Saturday, June 13, the couple shared that they got pregnant six months after they started dating. They learned that they were expecting a baby girl and planned to name her Tulip. However, at their three-month appointment, they received the devastating news that their baby no longer had a heartbeat.
“When we lost the baby, we were devastated,” Kardashian-Parker said in the documentary. “We cried for days.”

The couple now share their two-and-a-half-year-old son, Rocky, whom they welcomed after a long fertility journey. Kardashian-Parker also shares Mason, 16, Penelope, 13, and Reign, 11, with her ex-husband Scott Disick. Parker is a father to son Landon, 22, and daughter Alabama, 20, from his previous marriage to Shanna Moakler, and is also stepfather to Atiana De La Hoya, 27.
Kourtney Kardashian’s IVF struggles
The couple has been candid in the past about their fertility challenges. In May 2024, Kardashian-Parker answered fans’ questions via her Instagram Stories about her IVF journey. When I asked one user how she found the strength to keep going after six failed IVF cycles, she responded with vulnerability and faith. “I stopped after a year of trying (5 failed IVF cycles, 3 retrievals), my body relaxed, and I believed in God’s plan for my life,” she wrote.
“Lots of prayers for everything that was meant to be ours. And also lots of improving my health. I know how hard it is to feel like you’re not trying, but believing in God’s plan and saying your prayers is so powerful.”

She later clarified that she conceived Brookie naturally and not through artificial insemination. “I got pregnant 100% naturally, not through IVF, one year after stopping IVF, in fact. Thanks to God’s blessing on Valentine’s Day,” she wrote in a follow-up post.

In a Season 4 episode of her family’s reality show, Kardashian-Parker explained how the pregnancy was a surprise after she and Parker decided to take a break from fertility treatments. “We stopped IVF two months before our wedding, so it took a full year for all those hormones and chemicals to get out of my system,” she said. “We weren’t trying at all. I wasn’t checking for ovulation anymore. We decided to put it in God’s hands and thought it wouldn’t happen.”
