A 27-year-old woman, who worked in an IT company in Haryana’s Gurugram district, was found dead in a house in Uttarakhand’s Mussoorie, where she had gone with her husband.

The woman has been identified by police as P Radha Gayatri, a resident of Shakarpur in east Delhi, HT reported earlier. I worked with an IT company in Gurugram. Her husband, Soumya Sricharan, worked in a company in Pune, and they married in November 2025.

The couple was reportedly on vacation to celebrate the husband’s birthday on Monday, June 15.

Gruesome details have emerged from the initial investigation into the case, where the body was videotaped after the death at Coronation Hospital in Dehradun on June 16.

Late check-in to the accommodation

Gayatri along with her husband, Soumya Sricharan, arrived at Kiana Homestay in Tipridhar late on Sunday night (June 14). The couple had reportedly gone to Rishikesh the previous day before checking into the accommodation at 11:30 pm.

They reached a house in Kiana Tipridhar district at 11.30 pm on June 14. The two consumed alcoholic beverages in their room before sleeping at around 3.30 am, an earlier HT report quoted Devendra Singh Chauhan, inspector-in-charge of Mussoorie police station, as saying.

The husband makes the call

Sricharan woke up in shock on Monday morning to discover that his wife was unresponsive. He noticed blood oozing from her mouth and urine coming out of her body, which raised the alarm, according to details mentioned in the PTI report.

A team from Mussoorie Kotwali, accompanied by an ambulance, rushed to the spot while a pharmacist attached to the ambulance service examined the woman and declared her dead.

The husband’s parents had already arrived at the residence while the wife’s parents arrived shortly after. Upon the arrival of both parties, the body was sent for autopsy.

A body was found soaked in blood and urine

The police arrived at the scene to find the victim unconscious and lying on the ground. “The body was found lying on the floor without clothes, with blood stains on the bed sheet. Two empty bottles of alcoholic beverages and food items were found in the room,” the agency quoted the police as saying.

As HT reported earlier, blood stains were found in the room. A forensic team examined the scene and collected all the evidence.

“The room has been thoroughly examined and forensic evidence has been collected. We are investigating all aspects of the case and the exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report and forensic analysis,” Chauhan added.

A complaint has been filed in this regard by the deceased’s father, P Sudhakar, demanding an investigation into the circumstances of his daughter’s death.

A video autopsy was conducted at Coronation Hospital in Dehradun on Tuesday (June 16). “To ascertain the exact cause of death, the woman’s viscera have been preserved for further scientific evaluation,” Circle Officer Jagdish Chandra Pant told PTI. Pant added that the initial autopsy report did not reveal any signs of external injury on the body.

The couple got married on November 8, 2025. Both families originally hail from Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
