Those who oppose India’s rise are using different means despite having greater resources, he said in a program here on Maharana Pratap Jayanti channel, without going into details.

“Today, people are trying to ensure that India does not rise. False narratives are being created, false reports are being spread, and many tactics are being used to mislead,” he said.

He added that those who do have population, strength, financial strength and organizational capacity, but we must stand firm on the foundation of our values.

Bhagwat emphasized that India’s rise was important not only for itself but for global well-being.

“A strong India is essential for the world as well,” he said.

Referring to the legacy of Maharana Pratap and the historic battle of Haldighati, the RSS chief said it is a symbol of civilizational resistance in India.

“Our history is not the history of slavery. It is the history of struggle against those who tried to enslave us,” Bhagwat said, adding that Maharana Pratap’s struggle represents resistance in defense of “dharma, culture and self-respect.”

“Maharana Pratap did not fight for personal gain, but to protect society and culture. He was fighting against atrocities, for dharma and culture, and for the freedom of his land,” he said on the eve of the 350th anniversary of the Battle of Haldighati.

Bhagwat said there was a need for deeper study and broader understanding of Maharana Pratap’s life and ideals.

He said that the current challenges require learning from historical figures who stood firm despite adversity.

“In order to establish good governance and ensure people’s well-being, we need to benefit from such examples,” he said.

Bhagwat said that India’s strength does not lie only in numbers or material resources, but in its cultural values.

“How do we stand strong in such a situation? Maharana Pratap has shown us the foundation of self-respect, culture and pride,” he said.

He urged people to stay united and rise above narrow identities. “We must remain united as the people of Mewar stood with Maharana Pratap. We must work together for India’s progress,” he said.

He added, “Different identities exist, but unity does not require similarity. Unity requires harmony and mutual respect.”

Referring to the Battle of Haldighati, Bhagwat said it should be understood as more than just a military confrontation.

“The Battle of Haldighati was not just a war. It was a symbol of the long struggle of Indian society against foreign aggression,” he said.

He said that historical accounts, including those written by Mongol historians, themselves indicate that the battle was fiercely contested.

“Even their records show that they had to retreat several miles after the first attack,” he said.

Bhagwat said India’s civilizational history shows repeated resistance to foreign rule.

“Different invaders came, some gained power, but India never accepted slavery at the societal and cultural level,” he said.

He said that even during difficult historical stages, India retained its cultural identity.

“We have seen good times and bad times, but our dharma and culture have remained the same,” he said, urging people to leave petty identities behind and think of India as one entity.

He said that national strength depends on morality, discipline and social harmony.

“If India is to rise, Indians must rise in character and values,” he said.

He said Maharana Pratap’s life showed courage, sacrifice and commitment to society.

“The more we follow his example, the more he will continue to inspire us,” he said.
