Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday warned police personnel against creating a stir on social media while on duty, saying such actions amounted to indiscipline and could damage the dignity of the police.

Addressing a program in Lucknow where he distributed appointment letters to 930 Computer Operators (Class I) who were appointed by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, Adityanath said every member of the police force must remain focused on their duty and maintain self-discipline.
“Remember, this can only happen when you maintain a sense of self-discipline. We often see that during duty, many people keep making reels. This is indiscipline. At that time, one should remain vigilant towards duty and not make reels,” he said.
The Prime Minister said individuals must remain aware of the responsibility associated with their work and avoid actions that might make the force an object of ridicule.
“We must keep in mind that the work we do requires vigilance and seriousness. Everything we do with dignity produces results. No one should do anything that makes us laugh unnecessarily,” he said.
Adityanath also urged the newly appointed computer operators to act as “digital warriors” and contribute to strengthening the police system through technology.

“Prepare yourself to take up this role. You must have technical knowledge and complete information about the demands related to Uttar Pradesh Police and the security norms to be followed,” he said.
Adityanath said the police recruitment process under his government was transparent and without discrimination.
“Today, we are distributing appointment letters to 930 computer operators. Recently, screening was conducted for nearly 35,000 police posts, with around 28 lakh youth applying. Before that, screenings were also conducted for 41,000 home guard posts. In the last nine years, around 2.15 lakh police personnel have been recruited at different stages. There has been no recommendation or discrimination,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that a strong law and order system starts with fair recruitment, proper training and disciplined performance.
He called on the recruits to work collectively to build a better image of Uttar Pradesh, noting that development and good governance require teamwork at all levels.
“A good identity for Uttar Pradesh cannot be created only at the level of chief minister, ministers, public representatives, chief secretary or chief ministerial director general. It requires everyone to work as a team in their respective fields,” he said.
The program was attended by Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad, DGP Rajeev Krishna, among others.
