An Air India Express plane operating from Kannur to Jeddah returned to its departure airport on Tuesday after the pilot detected a technical problem during the flight.
The Pakistani News Agency, quoting airport sources, reported that the plane, which was carrying more than 180 passengers, landed safely.
The flight returns after two hours of flight
The flight had left Kannur airport at 7.40 am and was on its way to Jeddah when the pilots discovered the problem. After about two hours of journey, they decided to stop the journey and return to Kannur as a precautionary measure.

“The flight landed safely in Kannur. We will find out what the problem is later,” airport sources told news agency PTI.
In a separate incident, a plane bound for Abu Dhabi with about 260 passengers on board canceled its flight before its departure due to a “technical malfunction.” The authorities said that due to the accident, no one was injured.

They added that the Etihad Airways flight was canceled due to a technical accident. They added that all passengers were disembarked safely.
The statement from the airline said: “Etihad Airways flight EY343 from Chennai International Airport (MAA) to Zayed International Airport (AUH) on May 12 returned to the gate before departure due to a technical issue, and guests were subsequently disembarked. The flight is currently expected to depart approximately three hours later than scheduled. Emergency services have been activated as a precautionary measure, based on safety protocols at Chennai International Airport (MAA).”
