Paramount is betting on the Duffer Bros. To turn the fall 2028 box office on its head. The studio has dated the Duffers’ mysterious project for November 3, 2028.

No details are known about the project, which will be written and directed by Matt and Ross Duffer. Paramount describes it as an event film, but with all the things involving the pair, it’s all kept under lock and key.

The Duffers have spent the past decade at Netflix overseeing the streaming device’s success Strange thingsmaking them among the most important innovators of the streaming device. Before the series ends on December 31, 2025, David Ellison’s new company Paramount has enticed the Duffers with a four-year exclusivity agreement, which will enable them to create film, television and streaming projects via their Upside Down Pictures banner.

On the streaming side, the deal sees them reunite with Cindy Holland, head of Paramount’s direct-to-consumer division, and Paramount TV Studios president Matt Thonnell, who were among the Netflix executives who took a chance on the Duffers and Strange things Back in 2015.
