Actor Ajith Kumar has always shown keen interest in motor sports over the past year, despite his active participation in his films. He recently participated in the famous Le Mans 24 Hours race in France, which is considered one of the most difficult races in the world.
It became historic for Ajith when his team became the first ever Indian team to participate in the race. Using two cars, the team succeeded in obtaining ninth and thirteenth places in their categories, respectively.
Director Vijay Thanks Ajith for the documentary opportunity
Filmmaker Vijay, who is currently making a documentary on Ajith’s racing journey, shared an emotional message thanking the actor for inviting him to watch and document the event. Describing it as an experience of a lifetime, as reported by Nakhiran, Vijay said, “A huge thank you to Mr. Ajith for inviting me to witness and take pictures of the historic 24 Hours of Le Mans race.”
He described the event as more than just a race, adding: “Le Mans is one of the most prestigious and demanding sporting events in the world.
The director expressed his pride in being able to document Ajith facing such an extraordinary challenge on the world stage.

Vijay stressed that Ajith’s participation in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, an official support series for the legendary race, is a historic moment for Indian motorsport.
He pointed out that competing in Le Mans is a dream for all racing fans, as it tests skill, endurance and courage. According to him, Ajith and his teammates carried India’s hopes to the international stage. “This is not just a personal achievement for Ajith sir, it is a proud moment for the entire nation,” Vijay said, stressing the importance of the achievement.

The director also praised Ajith’s teammates, including Karthik Narain, Aditya Patel and Roman Vosniak, for their efforts during the challenging race week. The No. 16 car driven by Ajith and Roman Wozniak finished ninth in the Pro-Am class, while the No. 36 car finished 13th in the Pro class. Vijay believes that Ajith’s participation in Le Mans will be remembered as a turning point in India’s international motorsport journey.
