Skoda Auto India has just announced that bookings for the new Skoda Kodiaq RS will begin on June 22, 2026. This marks the arrival of the brand’s first RS-badged SUV, and compared to the standard model, it offers a more aggressive design theme, RS-specific cabin enhancements and a higher output version of the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
It is expected to be launched by the end of this month. Ahead of its launch, let’s take a look at the top five things you need to know about the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq RS.Engine, performance The new Skoda Kodiaq RS will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine that generates 265 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Compared to the regular Kodiaq, the RS offers an additional 60 PS of power and 80 Nm of torque. It’s worth noting that the engine is tuned identically to the unit that powers the Octavia RS and Golf GTI.
The car comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels. The Kodiaq RS also benefits from improved braking components, including slotted brake discs and dual-piston front calipers.
However, it is still unclear whether the India-spec model will get adaptive suspension, a feature currently available on the international versions of the high-performance SUV.

design In terms of design, the Kodiaq RS retains the overall shape and three-row layout of the standard Kodiaq but introduces a host of RS-specific design elements.
These include a glossy black grille, Matrix LED headlights, a revised front bumper with larger air intakes and an RS logo on the front fascia. Along the sides, the SUV features larger alloy wheels that measure up to 20 inches in international markets, complemented by red brake calipers.
Black exterior details replace several chrome elements, with the window frames, ORVM covers and roof rails receiving a darker treatment.At the rear, the Kodiaq RS gets an RS badge, a redesigned bumper with black inserts and LED taillights joined by a smoked decorative element. A roof-mounted spoiler and black roof rails also distinguish it from the standard model. Skoda is also offering the Kodiaq RS in exclusive colors abroad, including the Super Green color associated with the brand’s RS models. While the India-specific color options are yet to be confirmed, similar finishes could be offered here.
Overall, the changes focus on giving the SUV a more performance-oriented look while maintaining the practicality and premium positioning of the standard Kodiaq.
Expected priceSkoda will import the high-performance SUV as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and, just like the Octavia RS, the Kodiaq RS is also expected to be offered in limited numbers in India. The performance SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom), referring to the regular Kodiaq which currently retails at a price range of Rs 36.99 lakh to Rs 46.99 lakh (ex-showroom).Interior Moving inside, the overall interior design is the same as the standard Kodiaq but features a cabin that combines RS-specific design elements with the practicality of a three-row family SUV. The performance-oriented model receives several unique interior upgrades, including sports seats with integrated headrests, leather and suede upholstery, red contrast stitching and RS badging across various touch points.

The front seats are expected to offer electrical adjustment, memory and ventilation functions. RS-specific perforated leather steering wheel with contrast stitching and paddle shifters.
