As the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination approaches, around one lakh students have downloaded their admit cards, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said.

“Around 100,000 students have already downloaded their admit cards. The function of verifying your bank account details for refund, after logging in with two-factor authentication, is in the interest of students only. There is an load on our servers, but our teams are working to ensure that all candidates are able to download their admit cards,” the NTA said.

Earlier on Friday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the NTA has decided to provide an additional 15 minutes to NEET candidates appearing to retake the exam. He assured the students that the exam scheduled for June 21 will be conducted in an organized manner.

Speaking to reporters at Raja Bhuj Airport, Pradhan said, “NEET exam will be conducted again on June 21. Through you all, I appeal to all NEET students: Have faith and focus on your studies. NEET exam will be conducted in a very organized manner on 21st. I appeal to everyone through you; community cooperation is needed. NTA has decided to give them 15 extra minutes.”

Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary T V Somanathan reviewed the readiness for the re-examination in a meeting with the NTA Director General.

During the review, the Cabinet Secretary stressed the need to ensure that the re-examination is conducted smoothly, transparently and safely through close coordination between all relevant stakeholders.

NEET-UG 2026 has been rescheduled to June 21, following allegations of paper leakage and administrative lapses. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues its investigation and has made multiple arrests, while protests by student groups intensify in several parts of the country.
