Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose biopic announced: Aryan Shyam to play the legendary freedom fighter in Subhash's film

A new major biopic narrating the life of freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose has been officially announced. The high-profile project titled ‘Subhash’, is backed by a leading production house and aims to take the extraordinary journey of one of India’s most iconic national leaders to the big screen.

The film will highlight Bose’s visionary dreams, bold courage and immense contributions to the Indian independence movement.

Aryan Shyam To play the role of Netaji in the historical drama

A grand historical epic chronicling the life and towering legacy of freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose has been officially announced. Titled ‘Subhash – The Netaji Story’, the ambitious biographical drama will feature rising actor Aryan Shyam in the lead role, directed by Anand V.

Prasad. Backed by the eminent Gemini Film Circuit, the film promises a wide-ranging and deeply researched cinematic look at Bose’s dream, courage and legendary leadership of the Indian National Army (INA).

Legacy of Nationalism Adds meaning to the casting

The casting of actor Aryan Shyam carries a deep meaning for the film, given his deep-rooted family heritage. It was his great-grandfather, V. Krishnaswami Iyer was instrumental in supporting India’s economic self-reliance during British colonial rule.

For the filmmakers, Shyam’s legacy adds a unique layer of authenticity to the project, effectively weaving two distinct strains of the Indian independence movement into a single story.

Subhash aims to inspire the youth through Netaji’s story

The makers of ‘Subhash’ look at the film as much more than a standard biopic. Director Anand V. Prasad shared with Filmibeat his hope that the film will inspire young people to embrace a stronger sense of patriotism and civic duty. Disturbed by the decline in the number of young people entering the armed forces, Prasad believes Bose’s story can motivate the next generation to serve their country. The project is currently in pre-production, with cameras scheduled to roll later this year ahead of a multilingual global release.
