After making a dream Test debut for India, left-arm spinner Manav Suthar continued his impressive run by making an immediate impact for Warwickshire in the County Championship. Playing his first match for the English county against Yorkshire, the 23-year-old took two wickets on the opening day as Yorkshire finished on 398 for six.
Southair struck first by dismissing Sam Whiteman for 55 soon after the batter had reached his half-century. Later in the day, he removed opener William Loxton, trapping him leg before leg after the Yorkshire batsman had compiled a marathon 167 from 261 deliveries.The youngster arrived in England after making a memorable debut for India in the only Test against Afghanistan. He was named man of the match after taking seven wickets in the match, including impressive figures of 6/33 in the first innings, as India secured victory by an innings and 300 runs.Suthar earned his first India call-up after consistent performances in domestic cricket for Rajasthan, where he took 136 first-class wickets at an average of 24.89. He has been signed for Warwickshire for the next two rounds of the County Championship and is also expected to feature against Somerset next week.Meanwhile, experienced Indian pacer Jaydev Unadkat also enjoyed a productive outing for Sussex. The left-arm seamer returned figures of 4/29 in 14.2 overs against Glamorgan, helping to dismiss the opposition for 155.Unadkat, who signed a two-year contract with Sussex in 2024, has continued to make valuable contributions to the county with his disciplined bowling performances.
