As the New York Knicks advanced to the NBA Finals, a wide range of celebrities came out to support the team, including model, entrepreneur and media personality Jordyn Woods, who is often spotted on the court alongside Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet. Woods also happens to be engaged to Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns, who popped the question on Christmas Eve.
Talk to Hollywood Reporter Before Game 5 between the Knicks and San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, Woods spoke candidly about supporting Towns throughout the Finals, being in her wedding era, how the Knicks brought New Yorkers together, what it was like to witness the team’s historic Game 4 comeback at Madison Square Garden and her orange wallet that became the Knicks’ good luck charm.

Tell me about your Reese’s x Oreo partnership. What made you get involved with brands?
completely. I mean, the whole city is orange and blue right now, so it made sense. For me, growing up, my favorite treat, even when it was trick-or-treating, was Reese’s. It was always the one thing I looked forward to. So, it just feels like a coincidence that this is Reese’s x Oreo in orange and blue. This all makes sense.
Your appearance at the Knicks game received a lot of attention. How do you approach the magic of game day?
Honestly, I do my own makeup. It’s part of my routine now. I feel it’s right to keep it going. I have a very specific routine: I photograph my getting ready. I’ll decide then whether to publish it. I take my bag, as everyone saw, the orange bag. In terms of clothing, I decide the day before the game, or sometimes two hours before the game. When I’m on the road, I have to decide what to wear, but usually my road clothes are more comfortable and casual. Just because it’s someone else’s yard, it’s hard to get around. You never know what to expect or what to expect, then I carry Reese’s X Oreos in my bag for an emergency snack, just in case you never know when you’ll need a little boost. (He laughs.)
Which brings me to… You have a lucky game day wallet that you bring to Knicks games, and fans have noticed that the team tends to win when you’re with them. How did this tradition start? Are you superstitious about it?
Yes, the whole thing was a myth to me. It happened very organically. It wasn’t intentional. I was never the person who said, “This is the lucky bag. Everyone should say that.” It just happened. It’s huge pressure that one time I couldn’t get the bag, we lost, and now it’s created more hysteria. But it happened in a very organic way, and I’m so grateful that it’s my own brand and that people love it. So, I did not create this phenomenon. Social media has done that, but I sure love it.
What does Karl think about the lucky wallet phenomenon?
He’s here for it. He has always been my biggest support, my number one support. So he would love for both of us to win in the process.

How tense was the atmosphere at Madison Square Garden during the Finals, especially during and after the Game 4 comeback?
I don’t know if I can find the right words for it. To be honest, I always feel like it’s really fun there. It’s always a lot of hype, but the ceiling is after the OG [Anunoby] Reshoot it again, the floor was actually shaking, and you could feel the room shaking, and it was so crazy.
How are you feeling before tonight’s game?
I feel the same. I’m excited. I’m nervous, I’m ready to send out all the positive vibes and energy, and I just hope I keep it going and positive. But it’s unnerving.
What was it like to experience the Knicks’ fan base while they were in the Finals?
The city is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. I’ve never seen a fan base like this before, and no matter who it is, they’re all there and rooting for their team. No shame. No one is trying to be too cool or anything. Everyone is there for the same reason, and it has brought a lot of people together. It is truly a unique experience. I’m so grateful to see it, witness it, and be a part of it. Frankly, crime rates in the city are down, people are coming together, the economy is thriving, and people’s small businesses are doing better. There is a lot of positivity coming out of the Knicks win. It was an unreal experience.
If the Knicks end up winning the Finals, how do you and Carl plan to celebrate?
This is a good question. We were literally living moment by moment. The highs, you don’t want to get too high, you don’t want to get too low, you just want to stay humble. We don’t think too much about the future, we just think about each match individually. So, I wish I could tell you that we have some crazy plans. I’m in my wedding era, so we have a lot to look forward to, like getting married and such. But for now, it’s just game by game, moment by moment. We don’t plan anything, we just say, “Let’s take each day as it comes.”
