Prime Minister Modi on June 10 became India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister, completing 4,399 days in office. Over the past twelve years, the government has managed to eliminate once-feared left-wing terrorism, revolutionize welfare delivery, build JAM Trinity and UPI, strengthen railway, road and airport infrastructure, reshape India’s defense and nuclear doctrine, and retaliate against Pakistani terrorism, especially the terror attack in Pahalgam, through Operation Sindoor. The government also led the country through the pandemic and three devastating world wars.
Federal Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the government’s ‘women-led development’ model has led to the enhancement of women’s dignity, safety and empowerment.
“From ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Badhao’ to more than 10 crore gas connections under the Ujjwala Scheme and more than 12 crore toilets, women’s dignity and comfort have been given top priority,” Shah said. He added that women have been linked to self-employment through schemes like Mudra and empowered through initiatives like ‘Lakhpati Didi’ and ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said India has witnessed a “remarkable transformation” under Modi’s leadership, noting progress in infrastructure, connectivity, industrialization and national security. Noting the expansion of roads, railways and airports, he said India was emerging as a global manufacturing hub.
Union Minister JP Nadda described the government’s 4,399-day tenure in power as a “golden era” and said the period witnessed unprecedented development and welfare measures. “The government has laid a strong foundation to achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047,” he said.

Haryana Minister CM Nayab Singh Saini said the 12 years of the Modi government were marked by confidence, development, good governance and public welfare, asserting that India has entered a new era under the leadership of the Prime Minister. “The country is progressing at a rapid pace under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, and we are witnessing a strong India, a new India,” Saini said.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant also congratulated Modi on completing 12 years in office and said, “During Prime Minister Modi’s tenure, the dream of ‘Undivided India’ was fulfilled. With the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir became an integral part of the country. Creating a Naxal- and terrorism-free India is the second major achievement of his tenure, and building Ram Mandir is the third.”
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu highlighted the government’s women-centric initiatives, saying women have emerged as leaders, entrepreneurs and equal partners in nation building over the past 12 years. “For generations, Indian women have borne the burden of family, often without the opportunities and recognition they deserve.
