He also prayed in samadhi of Sree Narayana Guru at Sivagiri Mutt in Varkala here.

Founded by Sree Narayana Guru, Sivagiri Mutt is a major spiritual center for its followers.

After holding a meeting with Sivagiri Mutt chief Swami Satchidananda and other members of the Mutt administration, Sathisan told reporters that this was his first visit to Sivagiri after taking over as chief minister.

He said that the Guru created a social awakening through his simple and powerful words.

Standing before the samadhi of the social reformer, Sathisan said that Sri Narayana Guru had brought about transformative changes in the social and political spheres of Kerala.

“The government’s vision is in line with the Kerala that Guru dreamed of, a Kerala free of caste and religious divisions, where people coexist peacefully under communal harmony and mutual respect. In honor of Guru’s samadhi, I reiterated the government’s commitment to work towards this Kerala,” he said.

Sathisan pointed out that Sivagiri became a holy place through the presence and spiritual influence of Sri Narayana Guru and emerged as one of the most important pilgrimage centers in Kerala.

“The government will provide all possible support to develop Sivagiri into a pilgrimage destination of international standards,” he said.

Swami Satchidananda thanked the Prime Minister for his visit to Mutt.

“People believe that under his leadership, good governance can be ensured and the country can achieve greater development. We pray that he will work beyond caste, religion, group interests and politics to promote social harmony,” Satchidananda said.
