The incident, which reportedly took place at around 5.30 am near Vwara Chowk, was captured on CCTV, and shows the gym owner, Kapil, conducting an outdoor workout session for a group of six to seven people.

In CCTV images, Kapil is seen giving instructions to a small group of people doing a ‘progress’ exercise on a set of stairs near Vwara Chowk early in the morning – all of them with their backs to the road and facing closed shops.

The video shows two people riding a bike and one of them shooting at Kapil, causing the group of people who were exercising to panic and flee the scene.

PTI news agency quoted Vinod Shankar, deputy superintendent of police (headquarters) in Hansi, as saying that the attacker fired 10 shots at the victim.

DSP Shankar said Kapil, who was running a fitness center in Hansi, recently shifted his business to a new location in the same area.

He added that the motive behind the crime is under investigation, and efforts are underway to arrest the accused.

Kapil’s mother told police that he got married in court nearly three years ago, according to the DSP.

The video shows a man wearing a white hat getting down and firing several shots at Kapil. The victim turns around but falls to the ground after being shot several times, while the attackers flee the scene.

Kapil was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

Police said efforts are underway to track down the attackers.

In a separate incident, a gym in West Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area was attacked early Thursday after two unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire on the building, police said. No injuries were reported in the incident.

HT had earlier reported that the shooting took place at the 24 Hs Fitness gym located in the Pushkar area, prompting police to respond and conduct an investigation into the possible motives behind the attack. Authorities are also examining a possible connection with Punjabi singer and businessman Guru Randhawa, whose name emerged during the investigation.

According to Delhi Police, information about the incident was received through a PCR call in the early hours of Thursday.

“In the early morning of 06/11/26, a PCR call was received at PS Paschim Vihar East regarding a shooting incident at ’24 Hs fitness’ gym, at Pushkar Enclave, Paschim Vihar, Delhi,” a Delhi Police statement said.
