A section of fans viewed the development more positively, and speculated whether the credit signaled a quiet creative comeback for the actor. Comment I read, “Dick: The #Alpha story “credits” have been given to Uday Chopra. Talent runs in the genes, so is this a return for Uday from behind the scenes? #AliaBhatt #Sharafari.”

One comment also took aim at elements in the teaser itself, adding: “Has anyone already brought Hamza back? Instead, we are stuck watching a so-called “spy” whose father speaks Haryanvi while she somehow speaks fluent Hindi. Furthermore, they try to portray a 33 year old woman as an 18 year old #alpha girl. Writer: Uday Chopra.”
