The passing of veteran director Bharathiraja represents a huge loss to the Tamil film industry. He passed away on June 10 due to health complications. Bharathiraja has been celebrated for his realistic depiction of rural life and for nurturing many young talents through his films. Film personalities, politicians and fans visited his residence in Chennai to pay their final respects. Many notable personalities, including Vijay, Rajinikanth, Ilaiyaraaja, Kamal Haasan, Suriya Sivakumar and Radhika Sarathkumar, paid tribute to the director who is fondly known as ‘Iyakkunar Imayam’.

The recent launch of Special Task Force Singappenn has generated a lot of interest due to its notable association with Vijay’s hit film Bigil. The term “Singappenn” immediately conjures memories of “Singappenney,” the famous song from the film that celebrated female empowerment. Coincidentally, Bigil revolves around Vijay mentoring a women’s football team and inspiring them to follow their dreams. Supreme Court sets deadline in Ravi Mohan and Aarti’s divorce case
The Madras High Court has directed the Chennai Family Welfare Court to dispose of the interim maintenance petition filed by Aarti Ravi within two weeks. Aarti approached the Supreme Court citing the delay in hearing her plea for financial assistance. Meanwhile, the court rejected Ravi Mohan’s request for additional time to conclude the proceedings. As a result, the Family Welfare Court was instructed to issue its order within the stipulated time frame.
