Their divorce proceedings were filled with such shocking and salacious allegations that TMZ made it seem so Pediatrics Journal. But now it appears that David Geffen and his ex-husband, former dancer David Armstrong, have reconciled — or at least enough to take a boat trip together.
Sources told Rampling that the two recently met aboard Rising Sun, Geffen’s 453-foot yacht — 82 rooms, a basketball court and a pool — that has been docked since late April in the western Mediterranean. No one knows exactly what the two said to each other, but considering how brutally they went after each other in court last year, it’s hard to imagine it was all hugs and laughs.
Armstrong, 33, a former porn star who sometimes goes by the name Donovan Michaels, accused Geffen, 83, of grooming, controlling and pressuring him to use drugs at parties on his mega yacht, which has transported the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Bruce Springsteen, Jeff Bezos and Goldman Sachs Chairman Lloyd Blankfein. In his countersuit, an angry Geffen responded by saying that Armstrong had collected hundreds of thousands of dollars from Geffen’s accounts in exchange for clothes and cosmetic procedures — and, in the final months of the marriage, a small fortune from male escorts. Both sides categorically denied the other’s allegations.
Eventually, on April 13, some sort of amicable settlement was reached, although one of Geffen’s friends was careful to point out that they were “definitely not getting back together.” The exact amount Geffen paid Armstrong to consummate their 23-month marriage has not been revealed, although estimates range from $15 million to $30 million. While that may seem like a lot of money, some of Geffen’s friends joked that it probably wasn’t enough for the famously demanding billionaire to afford.
“Geffen got out of the way too easily,” says one. “He was constantly running around entertaining everyone around 9″ Donovan. He should have at least walked away with $10 million an inch.”
