Ravi Mohan - Aarti Ravi divorce case: Interim maintenance application of Rs 40 lakh; The legal dispute continues

The ongoing divorce proceedings between actor Ravi Mohan and his estranged wife Aarti Ravi have entered a new phase. The latest development centers around a petition seeking interim maintenance for Aarti and the couple’s children. Aarti Ravi has approached the Chennai Family Welfare Court, alleging that financial support has not been provided to the children for several months. According to her petition, expenses related to education and other basic requirements have remained unpaid since April 2025.

Temporary maintenance of Rs 40 lakh is required

As reported by Law Chakra, in her petition before the family welfare court, Aarti Ravi sought temporary financial support for herself and her children.

She requested a monthly maintenance amount of Rs 40,000 until the divorce proceedings are over.The petition states that the amount is necessary to cover educational expenses, daily living costs and other responsibilities associated with the welfare of the children. According to court filings, Artie said the lack of financial support placed the burden of managing these expenses on her alone.

It comes up Madras High Court

The dispute later reached the Madras High Court after Aarti Ravi expressed concerns over the delay in the hearing of her maintenance application before the Family Welfare Court.

Seeking faster action, she moved the Supreme Court and sought directions to ensure that her petition is heard without further delay.After considering the matter, the Supreme Court directed the Family Welfare Court to consider the petition and issue appropriate orders within two weeks. The order effectively sets a deadline for the trial court to process the pending alimony request.

Ravi Mohan’s request for an extension was rejected

Following the Supreme Court’s directions, Ravi Mohan approached the court with a separate application.

The representative sought additional time for the Family Welfare Court to complete the proceedings on the alimony issue. However, the Supreme Court refused to grant the extension he requested.With the dismissal of the petition, the previous order remains in effect. The Family Welfare Court is now expected to decide Aarti Ravi’s interim maintenance application within the timeline set by the Supreme Court. As a result, attention now turns to the upcoming decision of the Family Welfare Court.Ravi Mohan and Aarti Ravi got married in 2009 after being in a relationship for several years. Their marriage lasted nearly 15 years before the couple announced their separation.The divorce proceedings are currently underway before the Family Welfare Court in Chennai. While the legal dispute continues, Ravi Mohan remains active in the film industry. The actor was recently announced as part of ‘Benz’, an upcoming project featuring Raghava Lawrence and Nivin Pauly in prominent roles.
