The Cyberabad Police have arrested three Nepali nationals in Uttar Pradesh on charges of stealing gold and silver jewelery worth several crore rupees from a villa at Hill Ridge Villas, Gachibowli, in a fast inter-state operation.

The accused were identified as Kamal Shashi, his wife Vimal Shahi, and another woman named Kalpana. They will be produced before a local court and brought to Hyderabad under a transit order.
According to police officials, the theft first came to light on June 7 when an elderly couple returned home and discovered that a gold chain adorning a statuette had disappeared.
A case was immediately registered and an investigation was opened. The mystery deepened the next day, June 8, when the couple’s son opened the cupboard and found approximately 1.5 kg of silver jewelry missing.
The Cyberabad Police Commissioner moved quickly, deploying Special Operations Teams (SOT), crime squads and local police personnel to track down the suspects. Six teams were dispatched across the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Uttarakhand, while photographs, photographs and details of the accused were shared with police units of the respective states. A special team tasked with tracking down Nepali gangs also joined the operation.
The breakthrough came on June 9, when Gachibowli Detective Inspector Naresh and his team, with the help of local police, arrested the three accused at Udhampur in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh. The stolen property was recovered intact.
During the investigation, the accused admitted to using the key located next to the safe to access valuables. After removing the jewellery, they re-locked the safe and took the key with them in an attempt to avoid immediate detection.
The police called on citizens to be vigilant and take preventive measures against such thefts. They also advised citizens to take advantage of the verification services provided by the police to helpers and domestic workers, including conducting appropriate background checks before employment.
