The Patna district judge on Tuesday agreed to stay the arrest of teacher Faisal Khan, popularly known as ‘Khan Sir’, in the case registered against him on charges of organizing an eviction from his coaching institute in the Bihar capital on June 2.
His students welcomed the order, expressed their confidence in the judiciary, described it as a relief to the student community, and urged the two sides to reconcile and put an end to the ongoing tensions.
What did the lawyer say?
The court granted interim protection after considering the facts and legal aspects of the case, according to news agency ANI, citing Khan’s lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mavar.

“Interim protection was granted to Khan Sir by the learned Principal District Judge after perusal of the entire fact and law. A decision staying the detention of Khan Sir was passed by the learned Principal District Judge and Principal Magistrate Patna,” Mavar said.
What did the students say?
Reacting to the court order, the students said the development was encouraging and stressed that the focus should remain on education rather than conflict.
“I heard that the court ordered a stay of execution (on arrest). This is great news. Everything should improve quickly; it will be good for the students. They are both students and should support each other. We don’t study in Gian Bindu, but that doesn’t mean we are doing harm to them. We don’t want to do anything to harm Seer’s reputation,” one student told ANI.

Another student urged an end to tensions between Khan Sir and Gian Bindu GS Academy and asked students to avoid making provocative statements.
Student Govind Kumar said: “We thank the honorable court. We are confident that further action will be in favor of Khan Sir; he is innocent. He has been implicated. Tensions must end, and students must not make provocative statements.”
Another student also expressed confidence in the judicial process, saying: “We have confidence in the judiciary. We expect the matter to be in Khan Sir’s favor in the next hearing as well. Both parties must reconcile.”
The FIR is linked to the shooting incident
The case stems from an FIR registered at Kadamkuan police station under Sections 109 and 418/2026 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 25 (9), 27 and 35 of the Arms Act against three individuals, including Khan Sir.
On June 2, shots were fired outside the training institute, wounding a security guard. The FIR is based on a video showing two guards allegedly firing, who were later arrested.
A statement issued by the office of the City Superintendent of Police (Central), Patna, said that a group of individuals indulged in stone-pelting and vandalism at the KGS Center at around 10.10 pm on June 2, HT reported earlier.
After the hearing, the court agreed to stay Khan Sir’s detention and provide interim relief in the case arising from the FIR linked to his security guard.
