As Imtiaz Ali’s much-awaited romantic thriller ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ gets ready to hit theatres, actor Danish Pandur shared his thoughts on how he became a part of the project. Interestingly, the actor revealed that his association with the film began much earlier than many might assume.
According to Pandur, he auditioned for the role before the release of ‘Dhurandhar’ and had completed shooting for his portions by the time the film reached the audiences.In a conversation with Variety India, the actor said, “I auditioned for this role before the release of Dhurandhar, and interestingly, I actually shot it before its release. Everything happened at the right time, and I’m really happy that it did.”
It was an unforgettable experience.” While the actor chose not to reveal specific details about his role, he hinted that his character plays an important role in the narrative despite his limited appearance.Danish described it as a special appearance, but stressed that the role has great weight in the story. “It’s a special appearance, but she’s a very important character who influences the story. I can’t really reveal too much at this point because that would take away the surprise. For Pandor, one of the highlights of the project was the opportunity to collaborate with director Imtiaz Ali, whose work has inspired countless aspiring actors. You grow up watching his films and hope that one day you will work with a filmmaker like him, so when it actually happens, it’s surreal.”
He is incredibly humble and warm and knows exactly what he wants. But at the same time, it gives the actors the freedom to explore. Even the smallest adjustments he suggests can completely transform a scene and make it look new.Pandor also added that sharing screen space with a talented ensemble under Ali’s direction made the experience unforgettable.

It’s one of those films where the emotional journey stays with you long after it’s over, and that’s something I really connected with.”The actor also revealed that the role allowed him to step away from familiar territory and try something different. “It’s definitely different from the kind of roles I’ve played.
I enjoy challenging myself with every project, and this one gave me the opportunity to explore a completely different space. Although it has a distinctive appearance, it carries a lot of weight, and that is what attracted me to it.
