Raipur, Chhattisgarh Cabinet on Tuesday approved listing of the state-run Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Corporation on the stock exchange through an IPO to encourage farmers to shift from paddy cultivation to alternative kharif crops, officials said.

The Cabinet also approved amendments to the Chhattisgarh Minerals Rules, 2009.
Under the revised rules, RFID tags and vehicle tracking systems will become mandatory for vehicles transporting minerals. He added that modern technology-based systems will also be introduced to determine the grade of metals and evaluate the quantity.
He added that the amendments will help reduce illegal mining, transportation and storage of minerals, enhance transparency and increase state revenues.
