Without any warning, he folds his hands and says, “Bhenji, aap mujse shaadi karogi?” Kajol immediately reacts with confusion and dismisses him without showing any interest in the interaction. Instead of answering him directly, she turned around and shouted: “Raj!” She quickly walked out of the scene, leaving Pablo standing there in complete confusion.
The DDLJ connection became the real joke behind the scenes
The scene worked because the audience immediately recognized the reference associated with the movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Shah Rukh Khan’s character in this film is named Raj, which makes Kajol’s dialogue a smart comeback for the fans. The joke became more interesting because Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan were one of the most loved on-screen couples in Bollywood. Their chemistry in ‘DDLJ’ had become very popular by then.
