Day 3 box office receipts for 'Peddi': Ram Charan film sees 7.2 percent growth as Janhvi Kapoor's alleged chats spark controversy

Amid the ongoing discussions and controversies surrounding the film, ‘Peddi’ starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor continues to perform strongly at the box office. The film maintained its momentum over its opening weekend.

Peddi crosses specialization A landmark at the box office

According to trade figures shared by Sacnilk, ‘Peddi’ has crossed the India net mark of Rs 100 crore within just three days of its release. The film collected a net collection of Rs 28.85 crore on the third day. This represents an increase of 7.2 percent compared to the second day’s profit of Rs 26.90 crore.Day 3’s lineup of 9,019 performances came across languages. After the latest update, the film’s total net collection in India now stands at Rs 125.25 crore. Its total collection in India reached Rs 149.07 crore.

The numbers abroad continue to grow

‘Peddi’ collected Rs 8 crore from overseas markets on the third day. This has taken the total external collection to Rs 42 crore. The global numbers also approached another milestone. Peddi has now reached a global gross collection of Rs 191.07 crore.The Telugu version remained the largest contributor to the gross earnings. It collected Rs 25.60 crore on the third day. The Hindi version earned Rs 2.80 crore, while the Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam versions contributed smaller shares.

Occupancy rises during the day

Audience response also improved as the day progressed. The Telugu version recorded an overall occupancy of 56.40 percent. Night shows recorded the highest turnout with an occupancy rate of 68.31 percent.This trend indicated a stronger turnout during later showings and contributed to the film’s rise on the third day.

So called chats create new discussions

While the film continues its theatrical run, discussions about Janhvi Kapoor’s character Achiyama have remained active online.

New conversations have emerged after alleged private chats shared by fan pages began circulating on social media platforms.As reported by India Today, the screenshots, which are yet to be verified, seem to indicate that Janhvi raised concerns about certain camera angles during the shoot.One message allegedly written by the actor read: “I told him no waist shots (sic).” Another message also claimed that Ram Charan supports her concerns. “Raam sir is very nice. He also shouted at him and said, ‘You will never take such angles from her again.’ So he got upset (sic),”

The director addresses audience criticism

Additional screenshots reportedly indicated broader discussions about how her character would be presented visually in the film.“It keeps happening in the south (sic).” “No, that’s what they were taking was worse. But Ram sir said no way, stop (sic).” “You have no idea what I was dealing with. I’m trying to make them understand (sic).”As criticism surrounding the film continues online, director Buchi Babu Sanna has issued a public statement addressing the issue.“As a filmmaker, I believe cinema should entertain, inspire and connect with audiences.
