'I went to deal with Vashu ji': Varun Dhawan and Farah Khan take a hilarious jibe at Vashu Bhagnani amid Rs 400-crore legal dispute

During Farah Khan’s YouTube show, Varun Dhawan’s late arrival sparked laughter when Farah jokingly asked him if he had gone to meet Vashu Bhagnani. The jibe comes amid an ongoing legal dispute between Bhagnani and David Dhawan over the music royalties associated with the song “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai”.

Choreographer and director Farah Khan recently hosted actor Varun Dhawan and his father, veteran director David Dhawan, on her popular YouTube show. The interaction, which started on a fun and breezy note, quickly caught everyone’s attention when Farrah made a cheeky comment referring to the film’s producer.

Vashu Bhagnani

. This remark has taken on a whole new meaning given the current circumstances, as Vashu Bhagnani and David Dhawan are reportedly locked in a legal battle over music royalties related to their film ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, which released in cinemas on June 5.

Varun Dhawan’s late entry and Vashu Bhagnani’s joke stole the show

When Varun finally entered the show, soon after his father David had already settled down, he walked in bearing gifts. But the gifts were not for the host. Instead, Varun brought it to Dilip, Farah’s well-known home helper and a familiar face on her YouTube channel. As he entered, Varun joked, “This is better than Trump’s house. I got something for Dilip.” Farah immediately noticed that she was being ignored and asked, “You didn’t get anything for me? You came late.”

Varun replied with a smile: “You don’t ask why I was late.” Sensing the perfect opportunity for a short engagement, Farah joked, “Did you go to meet Vashu ji?” “That’s what I went to deal with,” Varun replied as he continued playing. This hilarious exchange quickly went viral among fans, with many reading between the lines given the well-known legal dispute involving Vashu Bhagnani.

The dispute revolves around the movie “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai” starring Varun Dhawan.

Vashu Bhagnani has filed a lawsuit against Tips Industries and other interested parties, alleging that intellectual property associated with some of his biggest songs, especially “Biwi No.1”, was used without his permission. The recreated version of the beloved song ‘Chunari Chunari’ from ‘Biwi No.1’ lies at the heart of this legal battle.

Bhagnani emphasized that although Tips Industries owns the audio rights to the original track, the rights to recreate it and use the intellectual property associated with the film cannot be exercised without his consent or participation.

Vashu Bhagnani talks about his tense relationship with Varun Dhawan

Bhagnani also used the occasion of the virtual press conference to talk about how his relationship with Varun has been strained since their 2020 film ‘Coolie No. 1’. Speaking to the media, he did not hold back and spoke openly about the distance that has widened between them. “Quite frankly, after this case, there is some bitterness in all relationships. But Varun hasn’t called me for two years anyway. We dialed Coolie No,” he said.

1′ In 2020, he suffered a loss of INR 27 Crores, and he didn’t even bother to ask how I was doing. If he maintains the relationship, it’s okay. If not, that’s okay too. I lost a lot of money when I was with him. It’s like my child, children make mistakes. Father and son, so be it.”
