But to celebrate the 18th season of the main series, as Emmy voting is about to begin, Hollywood Reporter He attended an FYC event hosted on Sunday on the set of the series. As the buzz around Stop! Which! Train! continues to grow, THR asked Michelle Visage and RuPaul’s makeup artist David Petrushin (aka Drag racing Season 2 runner-up Raven) is about one movie that must eventually get made: a RuPaul Charles biopic.
“Oh, I guess this is fate. It has to happen,” said Visage, who serves as a judge and executive producer of the film. RuPaul’s Drag RaceHe said THR. “We’ve been talking about this for the last 30 years. It has to happen.”

When asked when the potential project could come out, Petrushin said: “I think it’s already been worked on. But in terms of coordinating it and putting it together, I don’t know. But yes, it should happen.”

So who should play them in a biopic? Petrushin isn’t sure yet, but he knows “they must be very tanned.” As for Visage, she’d like to portray herself, but if that’s not an option, she offers a few leading women as potential options.
“I think about it a lot, and I feel like Renee Rapp would be a good person to play me. Julia Garner could be good, even Miley Cyrus,” Visage says. “Depends on how old we go here, kids.”
Visage notes that a “tougher casting” will select an artist to portray the drag queen. Both Visage and Petruschin agree that an actor or drag queen can play RuPaul, but the role should end up going to “whoever is good at the job.”
“I can’t remember who said he wanted to play her,” teases Petrushin.

The original RuPaul’s Drag Race The series has been a solid source of Emmys, with 29 awards (and 79 nominations) under its belt. The show has been the winner of the resident reality competition show in recent years before Traitors Its dominance began in 2024.
