The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said its re-evaluation portal was hit by a “barrage of cyber attacks” on Tuesday. In a statement on social media, the Board of Education stated that service has been resumed on the website, with more than 16,000 students completing their applications.

“While thousands of students accessed the CBSE reassessment portal today, malicious actors attempted to disrupt the services through a barrage of cyber attacks,” CBSE said, adding that the service attack caused 1.5 million visits to the portal within two minutes.

The Central Council added that the portal also witnessed more than a thousand attempts to gain unauthorized access to files.
“Based on student feedback, we have further improved the platform, including extending session time limits to make the process more convenient and seamless. Our teams also remain vigilant and responsive to ensure facilitation for our dear students in every way possible,” the board also added.
CBSE opened its portal for checking marks and re-evaluating results of Class 12 board exams on Tuesday.
The board portal was opened after several delays and was initially scheduled to be operational for students on May 29.
However, CBSE postponed the launch to June 1 to ensure a “transparent and error-free process”.

The board’s re-evaluation portal has been opened amid the ongoing row over the screen marking process.
Amid the row related to the board’s OSM portal, the education ministry has sought a detailed report from CBSE and the contract awarded to Hyderabad-based Coempt EduTeck.
Earlier in the day, a parliamentary committee also heard issues related to the screen marking portal as well as the implementation of the three-language policy for classes 9 and 10.
