The Union government has appointed IAS officer Saurabh Vijay as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of India’s Artificial Intelligence Mission, according to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

Vijay, a 1998 batch Maharashtra cadre officer, has been given additional charge alongside his role as CEO of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

The position in India’s AI mission has remained vacant since the departure of former CEO Abhishek Singh from MeitY.

Chairman of the Online Gaming Authority

Meanwhile, the government has appointed 2001 batch IAS officer Priyank Bharti as Chairman of the Online Gaming Authority.

Bharti is also the Director General of the National Informatics Center (NIC), a position previously held by Singh.
