Rosamund Pike was not impressed by an audience member at her West End show Inter Olya During the weekend.
After performing in Saturday night’s powerful legal drama — a role that recently won Pike and an Olivier award — Saltburn and pride and prejudice The star took to the stage for the final bows. She surprised the audience by giving a short speech.
“I just wanted to say to anyone who’s going to the theater, it’s a huge thing that we’re trying to bring to you. I’m trying to tell you a story, and I feel for you, and I hope you feel for me, too,” Pike reportedly said. “There was someone texting in this part,” she continued, pointing to a particular section. “Maybe it was very important, and maybe you’re a doctor, and you’re saving someone’s life, and I hope you are.”
“But we see these things, and we feel them,” she added. “I’ve got you. I feel like I have to have all of you, so when I feel it and see it, it’s hard.”
One attendee said The times that Pike seemed “really upset.” They added: “We were all a bit taken aback. It’s a very emotional play. She pointed to the area of stalls where the person was sitting but said it wouldn’t be specific to them.”
