'Alaska Bush People' star Matt Brown dies at 43; Brother Bear Brown confirms in a social media post

Trigger Warning: This article contains references to death and suicide.“Alaskan Bush People” star Matt Brown has died at the age of 43. The man was known for appearing in more than 80 episodes of the popular American TV show covering the lives of the Brown family.

In a recent social media post, Bear Brown, Matt Brown’s brother, revealed the death of his brother, who had been estranged from the family for a long time. In the video, Bear appears to be crying as he confirms that there is a strong possibility that his older brother and star of the movie “Alaskan Bush People” is dead.“I wanted to start off by saying that I can’t confirm that this is 100 percent true right now, but this is what I’m hearing,” he began the video.

He also added: “I was told late last night that Matt committed suicide. … Witnesses say he was seen in a river, or at a river, or near a river, and that he committed suicide, and that they saw him floating in the river.”He revealed that the news was based on witnesses and that the authorities were searching the area for Brown. He also noted that his brother had struggled with alcohol and drug abuse for some time, and had been estranged from the family for a long time as well.

In the video, he also recalls the last time he met his brother at the grocery store. He recalled the incident and said, “Before I left for Florida, I actually met him at Walmart, and we talked for a few minutes, and that was the last time I saw him, you know? And he called me afterward, and he said he fell off the cart, and I said, ‘Okay, get back at it, man.’ You know, everyone falls. Just get back to it.”

In a follow-up post, he pointed out some offensive comments made about his family members and also noted that the body is “99%” that of his brother Matt.

The search has been called off until further notice for the missing man believed to be Matt Brown

In another social media post made by the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office on May 30, search efforts were underway in the area. The statement added, “The representatives are the Undersecretary of the Department of Fish and Wildlife in Washington[s] Boats, personal watercraft, sonar and divers were used to search an expanding area near where the male was last seen. Dogs were deployed from Spokane, trained to detect human remains, and tools were used to haul up the river bed.

The male has not been located.
