NEW DELHI: The government on Saturday reduced special additional excise duty (SAED) on exports of diesel, petrol and aviation turbine fuel (ATF), effective June 1.SAED on petrol exports was reduced to Rs 1.5 per liter from Rs 3, on diesel to Rs 13.5 per liter from Rs 16.5, and on ATF to Rs 9.5 per liter from Rs 16.
The government said there will be no change in the current customs duty rates on gasoline and diesel for domestic consumption.The last such review took place on March 16.Export duties on petrol, diesel and ATF exports were imposed on March 27 to ensure domestic availability of petroleum products by discouraging exports amid the ongoing West Asia crisis. Prices are reviewed every two weeks and are determined on the basis of average global crude oil, gasoline, diesel and ATF prices prevailing since the previous review.
