“We are aware that the unfortunate technical glitch that occurred today has caused distress to some candidates for CUET (UG) 2026,” NTA said in a post on X.

“Candidates who have done biometric registration and were present at their examination centers today (i.e. 30.05.2026 in Shift-I), but were unable to complete their examination due to this technical glitch, will get an opportunity for screening.”

NTA had earlier confirmed that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) faced disruptions at some centers on May 30 due to a technical glitch reported by the service provider, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

CUET-ug 2026 Technical glitch at NTA

A technical snag has affected the CUET-UG 2026 exams for admission to bachelor’s degree programs across India, NTA said.

The issue has since been resolved and the exam is being conducted with full make-up time so that no candidate is deprived, the agency said, adding: “TCS has informed that a technical glitch at its end has delayed the start of CUET UG 2026 in some centers on Saturday. The issue has since been resolved and the exam is being conducted with full make-up time so that no candidate is deprived.”

Many students and parents reported X delays and alleged lack of communication at exam centres.

“Afternoon session timing (revised): Reporting/entry from 2:30 pm; Examination starts at 4:00 pm instead of 3:00 pm,” NTA said.

She said that candidates for the morning session are given the full duration of the paper and are not allowed to leave until after completing the test.

The center is under criticism for repeated failure in examinations

Opposition leaders have besieged the Central government over the repeated examination failures that have rocked the country over the past few weeks, including the NEET paper leak scam, the CBSE OSM row and now the CUET glitch.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia criticized the NTA and said it was not able to “conduct any test properly” and that the CUET exam had become a “joke”.

“Prime Minister Modi’s government has set up a central-level agency called National Testing Agency… They are unable to conduct any exam properly… Today, NTA has turned CUET into a joke… Students reached the center today, and their timings, dates and examination centers have been changed. There is a lot of mismanagement… It is time to demand an educated Prime Minister in the country,” Sisodia said.
