Zsa Zsa Zemeckis Will Make Her Debut in a Major Movie With Romance ‘State-Crossed Lovers’ (Exclusive)

Zsa Zsa Zemeckis prepares for the channel Romeo and Juliet With the upcoming feature.

The actress is set to star in writer-director Alyssa Rallo Bennett’s tragic romance Lovers crossed the state, Hollywood Reporter I’ve learned. Zemeckis, whose father is Academy Award-winning director Robert Zemeckis, will make her debut with the film, which hails from Stonestreet Studios and I Ain’t Playin’ Films.

Rallo Bennett (Access, Restart) is directing the indie film from a script she co-wrote with Gary O. Bennett. She produces Lovers crossed the state alongside Liz Ortiz, while Angela Mickey of Liz Lewis Casting oversees casting. With its focus on two young lovers who face obstacles due to family and society, the project has been described as being in keeping with William Shakespeare’s classic tragedy. Romeo and Juliet.

“When I read Zsa Zsa for the role, I was immediately struck by the intelligence and restraint she brought to Mila,” says Rallo Bennett. “She has an amazing ability to balance a character’s rebellious passion with the emotional conflict and underlying vulnerability. Mila is constantly juggling impossible choices, and Zsa Zsa has captured this tension in a way that feels grounded and deeply convincing.”
