New forensic evidence found in the case of Mamta Kavli Bhatt, who disappeared in 2024 in Virginia.
A nurse and mother, Mamta Kavli Bhatt from Virginia, vanished into thin air in 2024, and while her husband, Naresh Bhatt, was accused of killing her and then hiding her body, the body was never found.
Two years on, the investigation has now taken a new turn as investigators found new forensic evidence. According to a newly filed court document, investigators examined: three human hairs, 13 human hair fragments, visible fibers, and obvious debris. These were recovered from the saw.Investigators visually examined the evidence and used stereomicroscopy before conducting additional forensic analysis.
Court records state the three human hairs “may be suitable for nuclear DNA testing” and were referred to the Forensic Biology Division for further testing. The 13 hair fragments were deemed unsuitable for nuclear DNA testing.
