Actor-director RJ Balaji visited a theater in Tirunelveli to watch his film ‘Karuppu’ with fans and celebrate its successful response. The show was held at Ram Cinema Hall, where it received a warm welcome from the audience and the theater management.
Drums beat, fireworks were launched, and fans gathered in large numbers to greet him. Later, RJ Balaji cut the cake among his fans and posed for pictures. Speaking to reporters after the event, he said that the audience’s response to ‘Karuppu’ felt like a celebration of the festival and termed it a proud moment for the entire team.

During the interaction, RJ Balaji also spoke about Vijay moving away from films to focus on politics. As reported by OneIndia, he described Vijay as a mega star and praised his contribution to Tamil cinema over the years. RJ Balaji said, “If there are 10 records in Tamil cinema, 8 out of 10 will be under the name Thalapathy Vijay.” He further added that no one can replace Vijay’s position in Tamil cinema. At the same time, RJ Balaji clarified that he does not think the industry has become empty due to Vijay’s political entry. “There is no vacuum in cinema,” he said. He added that stars like Suriya continue to lead big films and entertain audiences. RJ Balaji also said that he is happy to see Vijay moving towards a “bigger place” through politics.
Faith and spiritual themes in “Karuppu”
RJ Balaji also spoke about the spiritual aspect of ‘Karuppu’ and the faith behind the story. He said that the film was inspired by the tradition and faith associated with the famous Masani Amman Temple in Pollachi. According to him, people believe that prayers offered in the temple with true faith help in achieving justice and solving problems. He said: “I strongly believe in God. I had confidence that God would take this film to people.”
He also said that the audience who mock spiritual or devotional films may not really understand the sentiments of the general public and family audience. His comments received applause from the fans gathered at the venue.

The actor-director also confirmed that a sequel to ‘Karuppu’ will definitely happen in the future. But he clarified that work on the script for the second part has not yet begun. He also described ‘Karuppu’ as a special achievement for people who came from small towns with cinematic dreams and struggled hard to achieve success in the industry.
