The head of oil giant BP has been sacked over

British oil giant BP has sacked Albert Manifold as chairman less than a year into the job, citing what it described as “serious concerns” about governance, oversight and conduct at the company, AFP reported.Board member Ian Tyler has been appointed interim chairman with immediate effect, the company announced on Tuesday.“The board was surprised and disappointed to learn of the governance oversight and conduct issues it finds unacceptable and has taken decisive action,” Amanda Blank, BP’s senior independent director, said in a statement.Manifold’s exit comes after less than a year in the position, with BP saying the decision came in the wake of concerns regarding governance and oversight standards within the company.
