Speaking to Variety India, the actor said, “I am truly honored to be a part of India’s biggest film and to work with such a passionate and brilliant team.” He also went on to talk about sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor, adding, “He is one of the most hardworking, dedicated and honest actors I have ever seen. It was a great honor to work alongside him.”

Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram

At a special screening in New York, held after the first glimpse of Ram from the film was revealed in Los Angeles, Ranbir Kapoor spoke about the importance of playing Lord Ram. He talked about handling the role with honesty and a deep sense of responsibility. “As an actor, my dharma is to do my work in the best possible way with honesty and sincerity. There is a beautiful saying in our scriptures that translates to ‘Dharma protects those who uphold it’.

“As an artist, it is my job to approach my work honestly with responsibility to the hundreds and billions of Indians and other cultures who will watch this film,” he said.
