Pawel Pawlikowski and Ruben Östlund will be among the creatives to be showcased at Slano Film Days in Croatia next month.

Polish Oscar-winner Pawlikowski (Ida) will arrive at the event with his new movie Homelandstarring Sandra Holler, which just won the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival, where it had its world premiere. The film will be shown for the first time in Croatia at the Vila Riva Open Air Cinema in Slano.

THRIt’s called a review Homeland “A masterful exploration of family, history, and anxiety,” praising it for being “immaculately performed by Hans Zischler and especially Sandra Höller, grounding the film throughout with a strange, expressive stillness.”

Pawlikowski will also participate in a Film Talks session with Slano Film Days participants, where he will talk about his new film in a conversation moderated by Östlund. As part of the Slano Film Days program, another Pawlikowski film, CAncient warwith star Joanna Kulig also attending the event and participating in a cinematic dialogue.

Meanwhile, Östlund will present a selection of his short films in Slano, including CV Scene No. 6882which follows a group of friends as they observe an attempt to jump from a bridge into the water, and Incident by the banka humorous reconstruction of a botched bank robbery inspired by a real-life event that occurred in 2006.

During the Film Talks session, Östlund will discuss his creative process and new project. The entertainment system is downWritten and directed, it stars Keanu Reeves, Kirsten Dunst, and Daniel Brühl. The film is currently in post-production.
