During his visit to Bhojshala, Yadav performed a special puja to Goddess Vagdevi, whose idol was recently installed at the sanctuary after the Madhya Pradesh High Court ruled that the site is a temple of Goddess Saraswati. He performed the rituals according to elder tradition.

Expressing his gratitude for the Supreme Court’s decision, CM Yadav said, “The 750-year-long struggle has finally achieved success. A new era has dawned. The government will ensure strict and literal compliance with the judgment passed by the Supreme Court in relation to the historic Bhojshala. The magnificent Mata Saraswati Lok will be built at this site.”

He added that Bhujshala – established by Raja Bhujbal, has for centuries remained a prominent center of knowledge, science, research and the Sanskrit language.

“It serves as an enduring symbol of our ancient Indian intellectual tradition. Students and scholars from far and wide flock here to gain knowledge and engage in scholarly discourse on the scriptures. The state government pledges to make every effort necessary to revive this glorious past of Bhojshala. A new wave of all-round development will now flow through this holy land of Raja Bhoj (dhar),” the Prime Minister said. A research institute will be established to serve this purpose.”

The state government announced financial assistance of… $5 lakh for each family of three people – Bansingh, Antarsingh and Lakshman Singh – who died during the Bhoshala movement. An official statement said that a minute of silence was observed in their honor.

CM Yadav assured that all development projects in Dhar will be implemented in close coordination with the Archaeological Department.

Yadav pointed out that the legacy of Raja Bhoj includes invaluable sites of archaeological importance preserved in Bhojpatras (birch bark manuscripts).

The announcement was made during the state-level event of Jal Ganga Water Conservation Campaign in Dhar. The Prime Minister also noted that a museum dedicated to Raja Bhoj is under construction in Bhopal.
