The first adult murder mystery from acclaimed YA novel writer Tom Ryan. Treasure Hunters Clubwas optioned by independent producer Skywild Pictures for television adaptation.

The title of Simon and Schuster’s book features three strangers who gather in the remote coastal town of Maple Bay to uncover lost pirate treasure, only for new bodies to pile up when they collide with each other and a mysterious local legend.

Treasure Hunters Club It immediately stood out due to the originality of its premise and its rich mystery engine. It’s a smart, character-driven story with real momentum and comes with a built-in fanbase from bestselling author Tom Ryan. “This is a story that feels episodic in nature, and we see a clear path to bringing it to screen with the right creative team,” Natalie Urquhart, script director at Skywild Pictures, said in a statement.

The Toronto-based production company has also selected two other novels for the development slate of its TV series: Thriller Our little secret By Edward Kaye and Michael Klassen-Kaye, and Affiliations Written by Hugo Award-winning author Robert Charles Wilson. The deal-making comes as Skywild looks to join Canada’s page-to-screen-to-Hollywood pipeline following the huge success of Rachel Reid’s film.
