'Athiradi' box office collections Day 11: Tovino Thomas' film challenges 'Drishyam 3' competition; The global total crosses Rs 61 lakh crore

Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph’s ‘Athiradi’ continued its steady run at the box office despite facing stiff competition from Mohanlal’s ‘Drishyam 3’. The young artist recorded a huge jump on her second Sunday.According to Sacnilk, ‘Athiradi’ has collected a net collection of Rs 1.68 crore on the 11th day. This represents a healthy 25.4 percent increase from the net Rs 1.34 lakh crore earned on the 10th day. The film played in 834 shows on Sunday and recorded improved occupancy numbers throughout the day.

India Net’s collection crosses Rs 32 lakh crore

Athiradi took its total net collection in India to Rs 32.12 lakh crore. The film’s total collection in India currently stands at Rs 37.26 crore.The film collected Rs 95 lakh on the 9th day followed by Rs 1.34 crore on the 10th day.

Sunday’s revenue of Rs 1.68 crore completed a successful weekend and helped push the overall tally past the Rs 32 crore mark.

Occupancy improves throughout the day

‘Athiradi’ witnessed a strong audience response on the 11th day which was during the afternoon and evening shows. The Malayalam version recorded an overall occupancy of 42.68 percent.Morning shows recorded an occupancy rate of 24.33 percent. The numbers improved significantly during the afternoon, reaching 45.67 percent.

Evening shows emerged as the strongest part of the day with an occupancy rate of 50.08 percent. Night shows also remained steady at 45.50 percent.

‘Athiradi’s total overseas business worldwide exceeds Rs 61 lakh crore

Athiradi also benefited from respectable racing abroad. The film has grossed Rs 23.75 crore from international markets so far.With India’s total collection standing at Rs 37.26 lakh crore, the global collection has now reached Rs 61.01 lakh crore.The outside contribution helped boost the film’s overall box office performance.Directed by Arun Anirudhan, ‘Athiradi’ follows the story of Samkutty, an energetic student who revives a banned college festival and sparks a fierce competition that turns the celebrations into chaos.The film received positive reviews for its engaging narrative, humor, and emotional moments. ETimes gave the film four stars out of five and wrote, “Director Arun Anirudhan, known for co-writing Meenal Murali, makes an impressive debut full of confidence and swagger.

The film, which he wrote alongside Paulson Scaria, may not offer a completely new story. Campus politics, festivals, gang clashes, and friendship drama are familiar territory.

However, what makes Athiradi work is its energy, humor, emotional connection, and obvious entertainment value.”The review also noted, “The film has its limitations.
