Stephen Amell has shared the first trailer for the upcoming film Baywatch Reboot.
The brief preview, posted to Amell’s Instagram account on Saturday, includes a quick look at Amell’s Captain Hobie Buchannon, the son of David Hasselhoff’s Mitch Buchannon, as well as the characters played by Brooks Nader, Livvy Dunne, and Jessica Belkin in the upcoming Fox series. The trailer, which teases “Same Beach, New Blood,” showcases the iconic red swimsuit and slow-motion rendition of the original series. Amiel commented on his post, saying: “I dream of slow motion.”
Those who are waiting impatiently Baywatch Rebooters may feel like they’re living in slow motion, as they’ll have to wait until January for the update to hit their screens.
The 12-episode series won’t be ready for the fall but will debut in late January 2027, and Fox is optimistic about the series’ midseason launch.
“We have a rich history of launching a series in the middle of a season,” Fox president Michael Thorne said in a press conference call earlier this month. “We’ve done that recently with Best Medicine, Memory of a Killer and Doc before that. It goes back to 24, Empire, 9-1-1s and The Resident. Baywatch is obviously a very big priority for us, and we think we have a great opportunity to set the show up for success.” [in midseason]”.
Belkin plays Charlie Vale, Hobie’s daughter, who leaves her complicated home life in Texas and shows up on her father’s doorstep hoping to become a lifeguard on Baywatch.
Dunn, in her professional acting debut Baywatchplays the role of young lifeguard Grace. Nader plays Celine, a Zuma Beach lifeguard and Hobby’s nemesis.
The reboot cast also includes Noah Peck, Shay Mitchell, Hussie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Luke Eisner, Nadia Gray, Charlie McIlveen, Ashley Moore, and Kilar Miranda in addition to the original characters. Baywatch Cast members David Chokachi and Erika Eleniak.
Matt Nix (SPOILER NOTICE, True Lies) serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside McG (OC, Charlie’s Angels), Michael Burke, Greg Bonnan, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. McG will also direct the first episode.
