Nick Jonas, 33, has built his reputation as a versatile artist while also balancing his family life. Now he talks openly about the movies that make him emotional when watching them with his young daughter, Malti Marie Jonas.During a panel discussion about his new film Power Ballad at 92NY in New York City, Nick Jonas joined his co-star Paul Rudd and director John Carney to chat with Josh Horowitz. When Horowitz asked Nick if there were any songs or movies that made him emotional, the musician got candid about something he watches with his 4-year-old daughter, Malti.

“Well, I will say there are a couple of scenes in this movie that I wasn’t involved in that really hit me hard as a parent,” Nick responded.
“I think there’s something real that you’ll see. I want you to think about these powerful things, family, and that aspect. And then, outside of that, when I cry over a movie, it’s ‘The Lion King.'”“You know, the stuff I watch with my daughter these days and read some of those experiences, the stories that shaped who she became, and now I’m sharing that with her. It’s something quite special to experience,” Nick added, noting that he also “always” cried while watching movies on planes.

Nick welcomed Malti with wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas in 2022. On April 8, Nick shared a photo on Instagram of himself kissing Malti on the head. “First week in Vancouver,” he captioned the adorable shot. And he does the cutest lopsided pigtails on her,” she said.“Our baby is like a magnet to us, and we run to her wherever we are in the world,” she said. Priyanka had previously brought Malti with her while she was shooting on location for her 2025 film Heads of State.
“She’s with me to film this whole movie,” she told E! News at the time. “We’re on location in Provence, and while she’s on set, she and her grandmother go to this bakery to get croissants and bring them home. She’s having a great time filming this movie.
