When Shakira sang “Don’t you see, this is perfection?”, she was talking about the recently released music video for “Dai Dai.” The Queen of Latin Music danced to the official anthem of the 2026 World Cup, and it’s safe to say the anthem is absolute madness.
From Lionel Messi displaying his relentless on-field skills to galactic-touching greatness, the video encapsulates greatness in every second. Here’s a closer look at Shakira and her 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, “Dai Dai.”
“Dai Dai” begins with the appearance of the football players
The 49-year-old appreciated the soldiers for choosing their own battles, but for her, music is definitely not one of them. The 4-minute video begins with famous footballers, including
Kylian Mbappe
“We are ready,” said Lionel Messi, Alphonso Davies, Erling Haaland and Jamal Musiala, along with the great kids.
As Messi scores the opening goal by launching the ball upward with his kick, the Colombian singer-songwriter begins to sing.
It’s all about perfection
Extravagance is an understatement when it comes to Shakira. Standing on the shoulders of Mexico City’s famous Angel of Independence, she seamlessly transitions into dancing in the desert in her signature outfit. With an intricate beaded section along the waves of her green dress, she keeps it casual, her luscious hair flowing, and a big smile on her face.
Burma Boy Rap to keep up with
African children take charge with energetic performances and impressive movements. Burma Boy enters with his rapping flawlessly blending into the “Waka Waka” singer’s core vocal range. Furthermore, the singer navigates across a football field and onto a planet in a galaxy (and that too wearing high heels around the stars). Dropping GOAT names, she sings, “Pele, Maradona, Maldini, Romario, Cristiano, Ronaldo, El Pepe, Iniesta, Beckham and Kaka, Messi, Mbappe, Salah.”
After a full on-field performance, she ended the video with fireworks in the sky.
