Set within the campus of an engineering college, Athiradi follows Sam, played by Basil Joseph, a young man determined to revive the college festival that was halted years ago after an unfortunate incident. The film also features Tovino Thomas as Kuttan, a retired man who tries to rebuild his life through music and the local temple festival band.

The clash between their dreams forms the emotional and comedic backbone of the story.ETimes praised the film’s relevance to younger audiences, saying, “The film strongly relates to an entire generation that is often described as hopeless, lazy, irresponsible, confused or commitment-averse by society. As the story progresses, Athiradi gently reminds us that perhaps today’s generation is finding life in their own way.”The review also noted, “Kuttan runs parallel, brilliantly portrayed by Tovino Thomas, a retired goof trying to rebuild his life with his first music gig by forming a local band for a temple festival. When Sam’s ambitions and Kuttan’s dreams collide, the film turns into an entertaining rollercoaster full of hilarious confrontations, emotional moments and crowd-pleasing mayhem.”
