‘Drishyam 3’ actress Ansiba Haasan has leveled a series of allegations against AMMA and actor Tiny Tom. The former joint secretary of the organization alleged that there was a conspiracy against her within AMMA and claimed that raising complaints within the association serves only a minimal purpose.Speaking to Manorama News Online, Ansiba said that she had previously contacted the organization regarding the problems she encountered. However, she claimed that no meaningful action had been taken. According to the actress, her experiences within the association ultimately led to a loss of confidence in the complaints mechanism available to members.
Harassment allegations after police complaint
Ansiba further alleged that a former member of the Executive Committee filed a false police complaint against her.
She said the complaint led to her being interrogated and harassed at Thripunithura police station.According to Ansiba, she spent nearly three hours dealing with the matter at the police station. It later asked AMMA to investigate the circumstances surrounding the complaint.The actress claimed that when she raised the issue within the organisation, she was told that there was little the association could do.
She also claimed that Tiny Tom dismissed the matter and doubted the seriousness of the complaint.
Little Tom was the reason she resigned
One of Ansiba’s strongest allegations relates to her decision to resign from her position as joint secretary. The actress claimed that Tiny Tom was the main reason behind her exit from the organization.According to her, differences of opinion on many organizational matters gradually turned into personal conflicts.
Ansiba claimed that whenever she expressed a different point of view, it was taken personally and used against her.She said: “It was Nina Kurup who told me that he was saying these things about me. Do people say that I am trying to convert others to Islam just because my name is Ansiba Hassan? I may have different opinions on many issues, but does that justify publishing such stories about me? Little Tom abused Nina Kurup in a very vulgar way.”
I also heard that he raised his hand as if to hit Neena Kurup. I was afraid to talk about these matters publicly because I was worried that it might bring a bad reputation to the organization or affect my career.
Character assassination has crossed all limits. I have sent voice messages to all senior members of AMMA stating that Tiny Tom is the reason for my resignation.”
Alleged defamatory stories spread
Ansiba also accused Tiny Tom of spreading false stories about her among people within the industry.
She claimed that the stories did not reach her directly, but were circulated among others and eventually reached her through third parties.The actress claimed that the intention behind such stories was to damage her reputation and credibility.Speaking about the nature of the alleged rumours, Ansiba said that character assassination remains one of the most harmful forms of attacks against women.“Little Tom spreads false and inappropriate stories about me. He doesn’t say these things to me directly. Instead, he tells others, and eventually those stories reach my ears through them. One of the easiest ways to discredit a woman is to spread stories about alleged affairs or illicit affairs. In this way, it becomes very easy to destroy a woman,” she said.
