Shooting scare at the White House: Footage shows journalists running for cover

Tension gripped the White House complex on Sunday after a series of gunfire was heard near the presidential complex, forcing reporters to rush to secure shelter areas while heavily armed law enforcement cordoned off parts of the area.

The incident occurred while US President Donald Trump remained inside the Oval Office amid sensitive negotiations related to Iran. The US Secret Service ordered journalists to immediately vacate their press positions on the North Lawn of the White House and move to the press conference room.

“I was in the middle of recording on my iPhone to take a social video from the North Lawn of the White House when we heard gunshots. It sounded like dozens of gunshots. We were told to quickly run to the press conference room where we are now holding,” ABC journalist Selena Wang said in a post on X.There were no immediate reports of injuries, and the Metropolitan Police Department had not issued an official statement at press time.
