Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh were in a dispute over ‘Don 3’. After Ranveer quit the film, Farhan filed a lawsuit against the actor. Now the matter has been taken to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), where Farhan has filed a complaint against Ranveer over his exit from the upcoming film.
Ranveer, who was announced as the lead actor for the project, was at the center of speculation after reports indicated that the film had been postponed due to differences between him and the makers.FWICE is now expected to publicly address the issue during a press conference scheduled for May 25, where it will reportedly reveal its decision after reviewing the complaint and related developments. The film board confirmed in its official statement that it will discuss the matter related to Akhtar’s complaint against Singh regarding his withdrawal from the film Don 3.FWICE also stated that the complaint was sent through one of its affiliated associations, the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA), of which Farhan Akhtar is a member. The Federation also clarified that it will not announce its position until after studying the complaint and evaluating all aspects related to the matter.Speculation surrounding ‘Don 3’ intensified after reports claimed that Ranveer Singh has decided to withdraw from the project.
While the actor has not issued any official statement on the rumours, industry reports have suggested that differences regarding the script and creative direction may have played a role.There were also reports claiming that Farhan Akhtar has looked into options to replace Ranveer. However, after Durandhar’s success, these plans were said to have changed. Subsequent chatter in the industry suggested that Ranveer himself had started re-evaluating his upcoming projects in line with his recent career momentum.
Reports also claimed that Excel Entertainment was considering a compensation worth around Rs 40 crore, citing money already invested in pre-production and production scheduling setbacks.
It was also reported that Ranveer Singh has agreed to compensate the amount.According to industry reports, the production team believed that work on the film had gone ahead with the actor’s approval. As talks about the situation intensify, reports have also suggested that the Producers Guild of India could step in to help resolve the issue.To add another layer to these speculations, rumors have linked Aamir Khan to private discussions aimed at resolving the reported dispute. However, the actor later denied his involvement in any such talks.
