January 6 – Rioter Jacob Lang speaks out against Hindus, Jains and Muslims – at a Frisco City Council meeting.
City Council meetings in Frisco, a city in Texas, have long become a platform for scoring big points on social media by making hateful comments against Indians. The latest was one of the January 6 rioters, Edward Jacob Lange, who attended the Council meeting on May 19 and called India “despicable” without naming India.
“Hindus and Muslims are collaborating to take over Texas,” Lang said. “This is not Muslims versus Hindus here. They are here to eliminate Christians; they are here to expel us from our homeland.”“You have to understand. These people do not want to assimilate. They did not come here to become Americans. They came here to bring Third World culture into our country. If Jainism and Hinduism are so great, why are there dirty countries? They are bringing this ideology here,” Lang said, describing America as a Christian country.Edward Jacob Lange, a conservative activist and US Senate candidate from Florida, is a native New Yorker who rioted on January 6 and received a pardon from President Donald Trump. Lang had to be escorted out of the meeting after his allotted speaking time had expired. “If I lived in Texas, I would burn one of these mosques,” he shouted.
The council meeting drew attention as more than 40 people signed up to speak on an agenda item that included City Council approval of plans to build a mosque, a Hindu temple and a Jain temple on land designated for any place of worship for more than 25 years.
Mayor Jeff Cheney said if the projects meet all planning and zoning requirements, authorities must approve them. “In all three cases, the zoning was approved more than 25 years ago,” Cheney said.“What is before us tonight is not a policy-making agenda item. It is a procedural administrative decision based on zoning. Policy-making happened 25, 30 years ago.”The lands for the Jain temple, Hindu temple and mosque were parceled out in 1984, 1993 and 2000 respectively.
